I bought the speakers 2 months ago, whenever I listens I'm spellbound by the sound this MR4 produces. Most noticeable is the clarity, mid-range although low-end most impressive but acceptable considering its budget. Never would have thought a studio monitor speakers at this price range and definitely worthwhile having them than a normal multimedia speakers on the table whether it's for computer or studio sound testing needs. Only lacking Bluetooth, if it comes free with it, would be a real smash treat from Edifier
I was looking for some monitor speakers in the sweet spot of budget friendly with good sound, and these Edifier MR4's have exceeded my expectations. I was already considering Edifier but when these came up on sale I had to pull the trigger. Very very pleased!
Really impressed with the clarity/semi flat response curve!!! After a few hours of intentional break in at medium to moderate loud levels with orchestral and funk music across the range, they sound even better and the bass is surprisingly good for such small speakers!!!....but balanced, not hyped up like some others do! Assuming will be good for reference speakers for humble home studio projects!!! They get loud enough for small/medium room, but you do have to crank them up to around 7 to get there, but they stay clear and precise sounding!!!! Thumbs up!
The only Con I have is that they pickup frequency interference in my setup whereas I haven't had that issue with other brands I've used over the years. Its not a huge fail, just slightly annoying when its quiet and the speakers are left at 2/3 up and you hear digital feedback too often... not constant, just occasionally annoying (might be my cell phone too close?).
PS, love the white box color for higher end look, also the Music and Monitor modes!
Thanks Edifier!!!
I am not an audiophile so this will be a pretty basic review. It is an upgrade for me from some basic Logitech speakers. I use this with the USB C Apple headphone DAC/dongle into the computer USB-C port which seems to be the recommended budget thing to do.
There is some noticeable white noise when there is no sound coming out at louder volumes (with the front knob), but I have been keeping it under 25% for normal listening so it isn't noticeable. This happens even if it is not connected to the computer.
Overall it is nice and very pretty. Would recommend
Used for computer. Wonderful sound. You need a large desk (or stand or shelf) these are heavy. They look great. I'm not a gamer but I keep these on all day while working at home.
I gave these speakers as a gift to my granddaughter. She loves the great quality of sound while listening to vinyls on her new record player!! I also listened & was impressed
I have a slight hearing issue so I usually have to blast my audio to hear it clearly and these things blew me away with the sound quality without having to put them as loud as I’m used to, and the price alone is a win !
I bought this as a birthday gift for my fianc. He loves these little speakers very much. The sound is great. Volume control is on the front as is off/on making them convenient. The cable between the two is sufficiently long to span the keyboard, with room to spare. These are great for making beats and the sound quality is very good for little monitors.
Great pair of speakers for a small video editing system! These speakers deliver a good sound. It certainly has enough power and bass for mixing. At this price point, they are plenty loud and clear for my needs.
Im not an audiophile but based on what I hear this Edifier MR4 has all the qualities Im looking for. The MR4s have a monitor mode to produce flat, accurate reproduction in a near-field positioning, and a music mode to produce a so I cannot describe these monitor speakers as anything at this price but perfect! Perfect sound, perfect size, and perfect look. If you are looking for speakers with bass to just listen to music, these are probably not what you're looking for. If you are looking for speakers for audio editing and mixing, you will be happy with these.

Amazing sound quality and craftsmanship. These little speakers have a really wide sound stage and can give you a lot of clarity. The speakers are actually really well constructed. I really like the wooden cabinets. Only wished the wires were a bit longer to allow the speakers to get further apart on my desk.
The Edifier MR4s are excellent speakers. I do not think you can find better speakers for the money. They produce a great sound that covers highs, mids, and lows. They have many ports to allow a variety of devices to the plugin. Connections were relatively easy to understand and get hooked up. Although a Bluetooth connection would be nice, I dont think they are a necessity.
These MR4 monitor speakers are no slouch. They sound great and look great. Volume and power knobs, aux-in, and headphone-out are on the front. On the back are balanced TRS and RCA inputs. These little speakers are good for normal computer speakers as well as producing.
This is my first set of studio speakers. The quality of these speakers is great and the sound from these speakers is clear. The finish is beautiful, fitting nicely on top of my computer workstation. Great workmanship on them, too.
Great price for the solid quality! These speakers may not have the most exciting highs and deepest lows. They produce natural and flat sounds. I'm using them with my recording equipment, and they work pretty well.
Best speakers I've had. The highs and mids on these speakers are great, the bass is a bit tight but full. I'm impressed with their build and sound quality. There are two listening modes: monitor and music. These modes are accessed by pressing the volume button which also acts as the power button. You can tweak the high and low ends with the controls on the back to fit your listening or mixing profile, which is nice.
I couldn't afford the speakers I wanted for the studio, so I took a chance on these. Im impressed with the sound clarity in this price range. Plus, I like the beautiful finish, a variety of inputs, and the volume knob in front of my setup.
I really didn't expect a lot for the size and price but was very surprised at how they perform. Im pleased with the sound quality. The clarity is better, without harshness. They are not audiophile-quality equipment. But very good for the price.
The sound is very accurate. The bass response is great. The black looks really clean and looks nice sitting on my desk. The speakers feel solid and well-built. Im in love with these speakers. I recommend these to anyone who needs accurate references in a limited space.
These MR4 speakers are high quality, easy to set up, and with excellent and accurate sound reproduction. This is a great option for someone who is trying to do some sound editing on a budget.
Great desktop computer speakers. This is my first pair of entry-level computer speakers. I'm going to use them mainly for video editing. Im impressed with the sound quality. Great speakers for the price. Would recommend it for those on a budget, but still want some great quality sound.
I use them as monitors for playback and mixing of recordings of my music on my computer. They are a perfect size; small and light enough but big enough that they produce decent sound for close-range listening. These are not high-end monitors. But at this price point, they are very good at their job.
These are awesome speakers. I spent a good time doing research and these were highly recommended. They offer good sound, are well made, and look great. Please note that these are near-field monitors and are designed for listening at close range.
Absolutely impressive sound quality and build quality. I have them in my home office and they produce a flat, clear sound. They are easy to adjust and look great. I think they are a perfect entry monitor, if you are starting out mixing music, they will improve your end mix.
Love these speakers! I have a home project studio in my office and I use these speakers for recording and producing electric music. These studio monitors do a great job for the price. These are exactly what I wanted. The sound quality is excellent. I would recommend these to anyone!
The MR4s are near-field speakers, they're not for gaming or watching movies, you can't expect sound amplification. They are near-field speakers so they are designed to reproduce sound with a flat response to give an accurate, faithful reproduction of the original audio without enhancements. I think these monitor speakers are great for the price and I highly recommend these speakers, especially if you are just starting out mixing music.
I love these monitor speakers. They sound great with a flat response so you can hear what each track sounds like, making mixing easier. If you are working in a home recording studio but have limited space these Edifier MR4 monitors are perfect.
I'm pleased with their performance and aesthetic. The sound quality is great and surpassed my expectations. They have a monitor and music mode, but honestly, when I switch back and forth, I can't tell the difference. The cabinets feel solid. They look nice. Not too big. Nor too small. I use it for my home office.
Great speakers. Great price. Great sound. These near-field monitors are extremely crisp and clear when sitting in front of them at a desk. They are small but mighty. I highly recommend for a home studio monitor for limited space.
